9 Dental Billboards That Will Bring A Smile
If you were to ask me what dental billboards (or any billboards to be honest) I passed on my commute this morning, do you honestly think I could tell you?
Well, actually, since I am a bit of a marketing geek, I do happen to make it a point to study those large display advertisements and mentally critique every single one of them. But that’s just me.
For most people, the majority of billboards they zoom past end up forgotten, or never even noticed in the first place since we all have a tendency to block out a lot of advertising noise.
So, you’re probably asking, is it even worth it to do a dental billboard?
I will say that it definitely can be part of dental marketing strategies, but you have to do it right. That means you need to capture people’s attention with something “different,” and make it ridiculously easy for them to remember the message you paid good money to put in front of them.
Don’t Laugh, But Here’s My Suggestion
Humor can be one of your most effective ways of grabbing attention, and has been scientifically proven (by some very serious researchers) to boost memory recall. You do, of course, need to pay special attention to the essential best practices of effective dental billboard design, including readability and brevity. Otherwise, your effort will be wasted and your audience just won’t “get it.”
To spark your creativity, here are a few ways you tickle some funny bones…
Be Punny
A simple play on words may be the least sophisticated form of humor, but it works.
You could include a traditional photo like this dentist…
Or, keep it nice and simple with clever typography…
Clown Around to Show Patients Your Playful Side
If you and your staff have the personality for it, being a little goofy on a billboard can be a great way to show that coming to your office might actually be fun.
This dentist obviously got the most from his dental advertising “space”…
And these ladies sure seem like a fun “bunch”…
Use Sight Gags on Your Dental Billboards
Pictures do speak louder than words, so go ahead and use a humorous image on your billboard to cancel out road noise.
Optical illusions are great for getting people to do a double take…
Here’s one so darn clever I wish we thought of it…
And finally, a couple we did think of…
