Okay, so we got another phone call today from someone who received the postcard. The first thing he asked was whether or not we are contracted with his dental insurance, and unfortunately, we are not. He said this is a really big deal to him because he doesn't want to go to someone who is out-of-network. He asked a few more questions, and he himmed and hawed awhile, and finally he said, "You know what? I guess I don't care if you're out-of-network. I just really liked that postcard. That was really good. Go ahead and schedule me!"

One of the best programs instituted in our practice has been the In-Office Referral Program. Golden Proportions took our input and worked out a mail merge program of contacting our family of patients through the federal postal service. In that mailing they included a letter thanking them for their loyalty, as well as a beautifully designed referral certificate. That certificate suggests the patient refer friends and family, and provides room to list the referring person's name, as well as the newly referred person's name. It entitles both parties to receive a $50 credit at their next re-care appointment.
We have found that 'in-hand' certificate to be a tangible way of asking for referrals. More than any marketing program we have tried, this is the most effective. We find the caliber of new patients we receive is higher, and the attrition rate of that group is lower.

The magazine from GPM ROCKED MY WORLD! They have done 3 versions for me, this one is my favorite. I get about 25 new patients a month...the majority are coming from the magazine.
Having this type of publication has given me an air of seriousness, I must be the top dog because I have such a nice magazine with all those pictures of my own patients. Sometimes people even call because they recognize a friend in the magazine. I had 100,000 printed and have it budgeted out to send all of those out this calendar year. Consistency has been key. When we had about 6 months of no magazine we felt it.
I totally trust the advice I get from Xaña and GPM. They have not steered me wrong yet.

I am thrilled! This magazine has staying power. On Tuesday I had a patient describing patients in my first magazine and this is my third! People hold onto them. It also gives me validity in my community as being an expert. I have dentists tell me they really are impressed with my work, so that means they looked at it cover to cover! In fact occasionally I have other dentists refer cosmetic cases to me however most think they can do it all!

Golden Proportions also created some very handsome referral pads that we have given to both dental specialists and medical professionals. They provide a checklist enumerating the various reasons the new patient is being referred to our general and cosmetic dentistry practice.
This type of referral provides us with a steady stream of new patients who are generally quite pleasant and accepting of treatment. We would highly recommend Golden Proportions to other dental practices. They are worth the investment.

Okay, so something really cool happened today. A local TV station reporter called me regarding my mailer. Said he wanted to meet me at my office. They were so impressed with everything from the mailers to the website to the office, they want me to be the "local dental expert" for Jacksonville. This includes occasional TV appearances, but they are going to produce about a 2 min commercial for me that will appear on their website (I can put it on mine as well) and they will be putting commercials on involving me and their other "experts" on as well. What this means, well I think it means HUGE exposure for my practice. I think this just opened a whole world of opportunities to me that were not there at the start of the week.

One pt had scheduled an appointment to have a new 6 unit bridge and when she received the card, she cancelled it and called stating that she has heard of me and was happy that we will have an office in Saratoga.
